Accessibility Policy

1. Our Commitment

The Arches Suites LLC ("The Arches Suites," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to ensuring our website and our hotel property in Mott Haven, Bronx, NY are accessible to people with disabilities, consistent with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the ADA Standards for Accessible Design, and applicable New York State and New York City human rights and building accessibility requirements.

2. Website Accessibility

We aim for our website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Ongoing work includes:

  • Compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technology;

  • Keyboard navigability throughout the site, including the booking flow;

  • Text alternatives for images, sufficient color contrast, and resizable text;

  • Captions/transcripts for video content (including marketing videos of the guest journey).

Third-party components: Our direct booking engine [Mews Booking Engine] and any OTA widgets embedded on our site are controlled by their respective vendors. We will request written confirmation of each vendor's WCAG 2.1 AA conformance (e.g., a VPAT/accessibility conformance report) before launch, and will flag any gaps found.

If you use assistive technology and encounter a barrier on our website, please contact us using Section 7 below — describe the page and the issue, and we will work to provide the information or complete the transaction another way (phone, email) while we address it.

3. Physical Property Accessibility

  • Accessible route: An accessible path is available from Property entry to the lobby, elevator, and guest floors. The elevator serves all 3 hotel floors.

  • ADA-compliant guest rooms: The Property may maintain designated ADA-compliant suites. ADA rooms should be held back from general inventory in the PMS/channel manager and released last, consistent with standard ADA-room reservation-priority practice.

  • Self-service check-in: The Property uses contactless self check-in via kiosk and mobile key rather than a staffed front desk. Because this removes the traditional option of an in-person agent, we provide the following for guests who need it:

    • A 24/7 phone/text assistance line (Section 7) for any guest who cannot complete self-service check-in independently, staffed to walk a guest through check-in or dispatch on-site assistance;

    • Alternative-format guidance (large print / audio walkthrough of the check-in steps) available on request.

  • Common areas: Fitness center & yoga studio, business center & coworking, and TV lounge are accessible amenities; confirm specific ADA equipment (e.g., adjustable-height fitness equipment) as amenities are finalized.

  • Parking: Designated accessible parking spaces are available in the on-site garage.

4. Requesting Accommodations

Because the Property does not have staff physically present at a front desk, guests who need a specific accommodation — an accessible room, mobility equipment, communication assistance, or check-in support — should contact us 7 days before arrival using the information in Section 7, ideally at time of booking. We will confirm availability and any arrangements in your pre-arrival communication.

5. Service Animals

Service animals, as defined by the ADA, are always welcome at The Arches Suites and are exempt from our pet fee and pet policy restrictions. This is separate from our general pet policy (which applies to pets that are not service animals and carries a fee). We may ask only the two questions permitted under the ADA: (1) is the animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has it been trained to perform.

6. Effective Communication

We provide auxiliary aids and services where needed for effective communication with guests who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or have low vision, including:

  • Relay service (711) support for phone communication;

  • Documents in alternative formats on request (large print, digital/screen-reader-compatible);

  • Visual/text-based alternatives to audio notifications where feasible (e.g., text alerts in place of phone calls).

7. Feedback and Grievance Procedure

If you experience an accessibility barrier on our website or at the Property, please contact us:

The Arches Suites LLC 222 East 135th Street, Bronx, NY 10451 Accessibility email: cs@thearchessuites.com [insert 24/7 phone number]

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within [1 business day] and to resolve or provide a documented action plan within [10 business days].

8. Ongoing Review

We will review this policy and re-test website conformance periodically, and immediately after any website redesign, booking-engine change, or check-in-technology change (e.g., a change in kiosk or ID-verification vendor).

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Accessibility Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
